Behind the festival stand people from the Haslital and far beyond: the organising committee, the theatre commission, the jury, the patronage committee and the supporting association. Who does what is set out here.
Since 2019 the three words Volk · Theater · Festival have stood under a motto that changes every year. The aim has been the same since day one: bringing theatre-makers together.
Supporting association
The festival needs a foundation
Five days of theatre in Meiringen do not come together in five days. Between editions the supporting association keeps the festival alive: it secures the funding, elects the board and makes sure groups from all over Switzerland can play here — on terms small ensembles can afford too.
A membership costs less than two theatre tickets and carries exactly that. Any natural person or legal entity can join.
The association was founded in Meiringen on 18 February 2018. Its first members have grown to 343 — around 210 in 2024, a good 300 in 2025.
