Alles oder Nichts

Kindertheatergruppe «Lern mit»

Regie
Peter Locher

A new school year begins. Looking back, expectations, uncertainty, hope. But Pit refuses to take part in lessons – he refuses everything. With the provocative statement “Nothing means anything”, he turns his classmates' lives upside down. To prove him wrong, the class starts collecting things that matter – and later even sacrificing them. And what began as a game turns bitterly serious. A powerful story about meaning, courage, peer pressure and the question of what really counts in life. All or nothing?

The cook warbles an aria from a Mozart opera, one resident only ever wants to play Jass, and a fun-loving lady sings a great deal and out of tune. A sprightly pensioner is courting a mysterious resident and a shy man is secretly falling in love. There is a great deal going on in the care home. La cagnotte

Genre

Autor
Eugène Labiche
Regie

The story:

Somewhere out in the provinces, a card-playing circle decides to raid its communal kitty and try its luck in Paris – in search of an unforgettable experience. And so our small-town country folk set off for the big city with their modest savings, barely familiar with the ways of the capital of pleasure, industry and the arts. But then the machinery goes off the rails… What was meant to be an exuberant outing quickly turns into pure chaos. Misunderstandings, humiliations and swindles follow hard on one another's heels, and the group is drawn into a whirlpool of ever more absurd situations.

In «La cagnotte» almost everything revolves around money – whether as a dowry for the women or as savings for the men. There is counting and calculating, negotiating and haggling, somewhere between stinginess and sharp practice… only to end up exactly where it all began.
